The scenic drive from Cape Town passes the ever-popular Algeria camping site, after which you’re unlikely to see another vehicle! This sacred sense of silence and seclusion brings with it a rare feeling of safety and security – gold for intrepid travellers nowadays.
We stayed in Apollo, one of six luxury chalets, which was fresh from a slick refurb, and had all the creature comforts we could have wished for.

During our stay, we encountered sheep, pigs, cows and the two very friendly resident dogs – kiddies will love watching the cows being milked daily at 4pm. On our last day, we did the four-hour hike to Disa Waterfall with our four-year-old son, swimming in rock pools along the way, and only encountered two other groups the entire time. These prices will not help these accommodations.
The prices serves the International communities and not us South Africans
I find the prices well over the top

Just my comment as we wish to get away as well but cant afford your prices.

      Hi Taswell
      Thanks for your comment.
We try to include a variety of places in our roundups – from high-end to affordable.
While many places on our list are out of budget for many, there are some gems that, we believe, are well-priced – and worth the spend if you are looking for an immersive escape. Eg the Welbedaght Cottages in Tulbagh, Tierhoek Cottages and even Fossil Hills.
I do hope you’ll find something suitable.
