The special R995 for a 60-minute Sothys Fundamental Facial at Librisa Spa, lunch at Oasis Bistro and access to the hotel’s exclusive pool and garden loungers for the day.
About the spa We never need an excuse to spoil ourselves, but starting a blissful day at the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel, with a soothing treatment at Librisa Spa, is pampering perfection. Housed in three stylishly restored Victorian heritage homes, it’s a sanctuary of calm in the heart of the city. Dedicated to health, wellbeing and unwinding, the spa offers a nurturing environment for the body to restore its inner balance, leaving you revitalised and rejuvenated. Performed by an expert somatologist, the Sothys Fundamentals Facial is the perfect antidote to modern stresses, and the ultimate summertime spoil. It’s tailored to your skin’s specific needs, so whether anti-ageing, ultra-soothing, moisturising or deep-cleansing is called for, the treatment gets you glowing, unveiling your healthiest complexion.
About Oasis Bistro Lunchtime at the recently revamped Oasis Restaurant is not to be rushed and the fresh new menu, best enjoyed on a glorious summer’s day, make alfresco meals on the terrace a must. There’s a mouthwatering lineup including clever interpretations of Mediterranean and Pan-African specialities – all credit to executive chef Rudi Liebenberg and Oasis chef Llewelyn Hurter. Think mezze, charcuterie, shellfish and South African cheeses; then add flavours like Ethiopian beef kitfo, Cape Malay bobotie bites and vetkoek with biltong or apricot jam. Not to mention gorgeous tapenades, pâtés, pastries and artisanal breads – including options made with rare grains.
When it comes to the dessert buffet, suffice to say that the cheesecake has truly earned its legendary status; and whatever your poison – from pavlova to panna cotta – it’s there.
On Sundays, the restaurant hums with some extra sparkle. There’s a magnificent seafood station featuring ocean-fresh shellfish and fish, and a carvery boasting melt-in-your-mouth roasts, crispy potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, of course. Just don’t be fooled into thinking that this is a formal affair – it’s all delightfully light and laidback, with the Alvin Dyers Duo hitting all the right notes with toe-tapping Cape jazz classics.
