Take a leisurely drive up the West Coast and spend the day pottering around Groote Post, in the Darling Hills. The popular monthly market is spread between the estate’s gardens, yard and highly acclaimed restaurant, Hilda’s Kitchen.
Browse the stalls, sample delicious Darling produce (we rate the Darling Mushrooms and Udderly Delicious cheeses), and enjoy a spot of wine-tasting.
FUN FOR EVERYONE
There’s great family fun for everyone, as kids can go on supervised tractor or horse rides, enjoy face-painting fun and playing in water balls, too. Pets are welcome, but please keep your pooches leashed at all times.
Lunch is a leisurely affair inside the restaurant (booking is essential) or seated under the trees, glass of wine in hand, as live music provides the soundtrack to the relaxed country atmosphere.
After lunch, enjoy a farm drive through the private game camp and vineyards, or go on a nature walk, and do some bird-watching in the hide. In spring, witness the truly spectacular West Coast flowers that wash the farm’s fields and surrounding countryside in a sea of vibrant colours.
Lastly, don’t leave without purchasing a bottle or two of Groote Post wine.
