Spend a leisurely afternoon enjoying the greenery and exploring the many stalls.
On the last Sunday of every month (from September through to May), the Kirstenbosch Craft and Food Markets are a wonderful way to enjoy the warm weather while exploring the nearly 300 stalls. Featuring unique and handmade crafts, jewellery, clothing, leather goods, art, garden furniture, ceramics, and much more, there’s bound to be something that tickles your fancy.
Naturally, there’ll also be stalls selling tasty food, as well as a bar, where you’ll be able to purchase craft beer and wine. Entertainment comes courtesy of a top-brass jazz band lead by UCT Professor Mike Campbell, who sometimes brings along a celebrity musician or two. It’s the perfect place for a leisurely Sunday afternoon with the whole family.
Diarise these dates for the upcoming Kirstenbosch craft and food markets:
27 January 2019
24 February 2019
31 March 2019
28 April 2019
26 May 2019
If you are going to the market, find out who will be playing later at the Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts.

We had a great time at this market on Sunday 25th March. We bought lunch at a stall selling a choice of cooked chicken or lamb + an assortment of veggies. We chose chicken & brought it home to eat & it was delicious. We were a family of 7 but one did not have this meal. All 6 who had the meal had nausea & diarrhea by Monday lasting 2 days. Although we enjoyed the market, we are unlikely to purchase a pre-
cooked meal there again. Vendors need to take care with cooked food.

Hi Graham, thanks for your comment. We are sorry to hear about your experience. We have brought this to the attention of the market’s organisers, and await their response.

Good day,
I’d love to work at these markets? Any ideas how I can get the word out to the stall owners that I am available. I am employed during the week, but seeking a second job over weekends. Love working with people, love the outdoors, and very hard working.
Regards
Nancy
