Stanford River Cruise: A Leisurely Boat Ride in the Overberg

The kitted-out cruiser is equipped with binoculars and blankets, birding books and checklists, so be sure to tick off everything you see, which might include horses and bontebok grazing on the riverbanks, or even the fish and otters playing in the water below.

The two-hour boat ride takes you along the peaceful Klein River from Stanford’s quaint village towards Hermanus. All guests, not just guests staying at De Hoop Nature Reserve and Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, can enjoy the sights.
There are five scheduled cruises per day, for a R225 ticket price. Or, you could preorder the picnic bag (R395 for two), which includes breads, cheeses, salads, charcuterie, pâté, dessert and water, needs to be booked two days in advance.

Lady Stanford can also be hired on an exclusive-use basis for special occasions or team-building events: R3 000, excluding snacks.
