Aaah, Franschhoek…This exclusive Winelands town, just 75 kilometres out of Cape Town, is justifiably famous for its Huguenot heritage, exquisite Cape Dutch architecture, French-flavoured sidewalk cafés and fine-dining restaurants and, of course, an array of impossibly picturesque wine estates.
One such destination is Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards, with its view-drenched surrounds, light and airy interiors, easy-drinking wines, and warm, family-friendly hospitality.
And if all those aren’t enough reasons to entice you to visit this estate, then it’s latest offering – a bountiful South African-inspired feast – will certainly do the trick.
A unique South African experience
Every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, from April until end-December 2018, Leopard’s Leap will be hosting a South African Table Experience where guests get to explore authentic South African dishes while sharing great wine and interesting conversations with friends, new and old. The meal starts with a generous welcoming platter followed by a two-course meal where local ingredients, flavours, dishes and wines are the focal point.
Accompanying the relaxed hour-long feast, chef Pieter de Jager will be on hand to share stories, anecdotes and the origins of the dishes served. A knowledgeable wine-tasting ambassador will introduce Leopard’s Leap wines and share their uniquely South African attributes.
After your feast, wander around the estate’s glorious gardens, browse the fabulous gift shop for kitchen and wine paraphernalia, and be sure to take a slice of the Winelands home with you in the form of a bottle or two of your favourite wine.
