This contemporary, family-oriented estate is the setting for these South African feasts.
Aaah, Franschhoek…This exclusive Winelands town, just 75 kilometres out of Cape Town, is justifiably famous for its Huguenot heritage, exquisite Cape Dutch architecture, French-flavoured sidewalk cafés and fine-dining restaurants and, of course, an array of impossibly picturesque wine estates.
One such destination is Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards, home to a light and airy tasting room and restaurant, where easy-drinking wines, family-friendly hospitality and mountain and vineyard panoramas make mealtimes here festive and utterly enjoyable.
The daily Rotisserie and Harvest Table is a favourite for the variety of options, but for a truly immersive culinary journey, reserve a seat at the Leopard’s Leap South African Table Experience.
A unique South African experience
Every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, guests have the opportunity to explore authentic South African dishes while sharing great wine and interesting conversations with friends, new and old. The experience takes the form of a three-course meal where local ingredients, flavours, dishes and wines are the focal point.
The relaxed hour-long feast is prepared by chef Pieter de Jager or Chef Christiaan Visser, who is on hand during the meal to introduce the various dishes, sharing stories, anecdotes and the origins of each dish as he goes. And, while you’re enjoying your meal, a knowledgeable wine-tasting ambassador will ensure that your glass is filled with the perfect wine to accompany each dish.
After your feast, wander around the estate’s glorious gardens, browse the fabulous gift shop for kitchen and wine paraphernalia, and be sure to take a slice of the Winelands home with you in the form of a bottle or two of your favourite wine.
Please note No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 48 hours prior.
