Newlands Spring Market: The New Market in Town

Newlands Spring Market: The New Market in Town

Southern suburbs dwellers, there’s no need to trek to the other side of the mountain for a cool vibe…

If you live in the southern suburbs, and are tired of trekking to the other side of the mountain to enjoy all the cool things the Mother City has to offer, listen up. There’s a new market in town (well, in the ’burbs, actually) and we’ve a feeling it’s going to be a cracker.

Why? Well, for starters, its picturesque setting – between the iconic Newlands Brewery and stadium, with Table Mountain as its backdrop. Also, the list of top-drawer artisans and purveyors who’ll be vending from the venue is impressive: Culture Club Cheese, IYO Burgers, Hazz Cafe, Poke Co, Jar Bar, Experiential Cocktail Bar, Brew Kombucha, Candy Shoppe, Zang Chocolate, Jazzys Pizza, Woodstock Bakery, No Land Farming and Catch Of The Day Wines, when last we checked.

The first market is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 8 October from 9am until 3pm, and organisers are hoping to turn it into a regular monthly event (fingers crossed). Subscribe to our newsletter, and we’ll keep you up to speed with future dates.

In the meantime, if you’re looking to spend a leisurely Sunday in the ’burbs, with cool live music in the background, and lots of delicious things to eat and drink, swing by Newlands Spring Market.

I think it is a wonderful idea….but it would be perhaps more attractive if there was home ware & gifts to buy? Would that be a consideration for the future?

    With thanks Patricia
