Tea in The Park: A Lovely Way to Spend an Afternoon

Tea in The Park: A Lovely Way to Spend an Afternoon

This lush urban park is a wonderful setting for some teatime spoils.

Located within the lush and secure surrounds of the wonderfully wide-open Green Point Urban Park, Tea in the Park Café is a decidedly lovely setting for tea. Offering an array of delicious sweet and savoury treats, fresh lunches, or simply a comforting cuppa, the spacious outdoor terrace, with glorious views of Lion’s Head and Cape Town Stadium, is the perfect place to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine.

Everyone but the kitchen sink

The best part? Everyone’s welcome – including the four-legged members of your family, as well as the kids, who can enjoy some playtime in the park while you get on with the sophisticated business of sipping tea.

Tea Tuesdays

If you’re in the area on a Tuesday, swing by! Tea in the Park serves complimentary tea with any meal or cake ordered. How’s that for a deal that really takes the cake?

Greener pastures

Tea in the Park was established by Reliance Compost and, as such, it’s more than just a place to enjoy tea. The conscious café is also aimed at implementing sustainable practices and educating the youth about our fragile planet. For example, the café joined the #StrawsMustFall movement in a bid to “turn back the plastic tide”.

As for the food, all dishes are made using locally sourced ingredients, and other steps, such as recycling, have been put in place to reduce their carbon footprint.

It would be good if they served scones with their teas. A tea in a park -must have scones with delish local jams and fresh whipped cream!

Hi Debby, you are so right, scones are awesome with tea, and the good news is we do serve them at Tea in the Park!!! please see black board specials, as we only serve freshly baked scones, so they are not always available. come early. we also now have the most awesome rusks (home baked that will remind you of your Gran) buy a pack or three to take home too.
