Things to do Where to begin! A destination in its own right, Babylonstoren boasts an abundance of attractions. Enjoy a farm-fresh breakfast at Babel Restaurant before taking a slow saunter through the Provençal-inspired garden, impeccably designed by Patrice Taravella. Lunch is served at the conservatory-style Greenhouse Restaurant, while a number of delicious goods can be found at The Farm Shop, which includes the Cheese Room, Meat Room and Lekker Room (where you can find an array of sweet treats and roasted nuts). The Farm Shop also features a selection of freshly-baked delights from The Bakery, which itself turns into a restaurant on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. There’s also a glass-encased wine-tasting centre, Tuesday Tea Ceremonies, where you’ll learn how to brew your own herbal tea, a luxurious garden spa, and the newly introduced Spice Garden and Factory, which hosts the Scented Room, essential-oil distillery, soap factory, juicery and balsamic-vinegar cellar.

Vondeling Wines Winelands Accommodation

SettingPerched on the scenic slopes of the Paardeberg Mountain in a quiet slice of the countryside, this working wine farm is a mere 45 minutes from Cape Town, and boasts panoramic views of the mountains and vineyards. Home to a historic Cape Dutch homestead, a beautifully appointed tasting room, and a quaint chapel, the estate is a wonderful choice for a discreet Winelands getaway or intimate wedding.
The lodgings The original farmhouse, hidden in a quiet corner of the estate, sleeps 14 guests in seven en-suite bedrooms. There’s also a fully equipped kitchen, open-plan dining room and lounge area with a cosy fireplace, an entertainment room with snooker and table-tennis tables, and satellite TV. There’s even a daily housekeeper who cooks breakfast and services the house during your stay. The Farmhouse is also an ideal spot for wedding parties to spend the weekend – a mere stone’s throw from the venue and chapel, and completely private.
Things to do Enjoy a peaceful stroll in the surrounding landscaped gardens, or take a refreshing dip in the 20-metre-long swimming pool before firing up the braai for an alfresco lunch. There are croquet and boules lawns, and a spot-lit tennis court, for those seeking light-hearted recreation. The tasting centre hosts wine-tastings and serves light lunches, and is rather nifty for stocking up on wine to take home.

I am shocked by these prices! Who can afford this?
Inside Guide is a great site with amazing tips on things to see and do and great places to eat in our beautiful region. But it is clearly focusing on 0,01% (including the 9,900 $millionaires in this region, which equals 0,002%) of the population that can afford this.
