Splendid seclusion in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
It’s easy to get lost in nature at Farm 215. The 800-hectare private nature reserve between Stanford and Cape Agulhas is a conservation-first retreat, recently upgraded for self-catering in absolute eco-friendly comfort.
The three newly refurbished Fynbos Suites come with fully equipped kitchens, wood-fired hot tubs that double as summer splash pools, and wide-open views across this private paradise.
Its owners are passionate about conservation, having invested 16 years in clearing invasive vegetation, planting an indigenous forest and restoring the ex-farmland to fynbos floral beauty, and in the process attracting a plethora of wildlife.
Escape the world, unwind and drink in the big skies and pristine landscapes.

Out and about in nature
Teagan Cunniffe
With over 30 kilometres of hiking, mountain-biking and horseback-riding trails on the reserve, it’s easy to get out and about in nature. Scintillating hikes through the farm trails reveal soaring black eagles and darting sugarbirds, rock hyrax and antelope, the tracks of leopard, bar-eared fox and cape clawless otter, and perhaps the resident baboon troop, who hang out at the foot of the waterfall at night.
Meander through the young indigenous forest and even plant a tree as your contribution to the reforestation project. Or go for restful serenity: kick back and relax by the 25-metre-long swimming pool filled with golden mountain water.
Visit neighbouring wine farms, such as Black Oystercatcher and Lomond Wine Estatefor day trips, tasting sessions, or bite to eat. Or, head to the ocean for whale-watching in nearby Walker Bay, long beach walks and swims, or eco-marine boat trips.
Good to know Fynbos Hill, the old homestead, is currently undergoing restoration and will be available for bookings from December 2022. The four-bedroom house sleeps up to eight adults and two children, with a private garden and courtyard, and an adjacent building serving as the communal lounge, dining and kitchen.
