Situated on a working blueberry and pear farm on the banks of the Breede River, The Riverstone House in Wolseley is a mere 90-minute drive from Cape Town, but offers hard-to-beat seclusion – you’ll feel like you’re a million miles away.
This cosy house features all the comforts of a home-away-from-home, with the added benefit of being on Nature’s doorstep.
The shaded front stoep leads onto a sunny patch of lawn in the front of the house – ideal for the kids and pooches to roam free. The Breede River just below the front garden is accessed by a short flight of steps, and beckons on sweltering summer days. In winter, fireside board games in the lounge, fuelled by hot chocolate and rusks, are the stuff fun-filled family weekends are made of.
Four bedrooms and two spacious bathrooms (with showers and baths) accommodate up to 10 people comfortably. The modern, open-plan kitchen and living area open onto a spacious patio, with views of endless nature at every turn. A washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and fully equipped kitchen cupboards ensure comfortable, no-fuss family living.

While you’re there…
Should you tire of splashing in the river, lounging on the patio and enjoying festive family feasts (we can’t imagine you would!), take a day trip to one of the neighbouring towns (Tulbagh, Ceres and Slanghoek are a short drive away), explore the Ceres Valley on the Ceres Railway, get your adrenaline pumping on the Ceres Zipline, go horse-riding or mountain-biking on the nearby trails, visit one of the surrounding wine farms for a tasting or picnic, or go berry-picking on the farm during season.
With all this the doorstep of this wonderfully comfortable holiday home, The Riverstone House is all you need for a fabulous getaway.
