Farsight Villa at Taaibosch: Contemporary Luxury in the Stellenbosch Winelands
Effortless luxury with views to forever.
By Inside Guide • 31 August 2022
Perched high on the Helderberg slopes, this impeccable contemporary villa in the Stellenbosch Winelands lives up to its name, with panoramic bird’s-eye views to Table Mountain and False Bay over the mountain vineyards of Taaibosch Wine Estate.

Bought in 2016 by the Oddos, a French wine-making family, as their South African outpost, the boutique estate has been meticulously converted to organic farming; the superb terroir producing its renowned Crescendo blend. Taaibosch isn’t open to the public, but villa guests are offered an exclusive tour and tasting as part of their stay.
Effortless villa luxury

At the very top of the estate, the newly launched Farsight Villa is completely private. Lying back on a lounger beside the pool, you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world: watching raptors circling on the high air currents to the sounds of birdsong among the fynbos. This is the deluxe version of self-catering, with a chef preparing breakfast for you, a daily service and turndown, and a butler on hand to help as needed. The beautiful kitchen, pizza oven and braai area make entertaining a breeze, and there’s also the option of hiring a private chef for one or more meals including a traditional braai or potjie.
