Only an hour’s drive from Cape Town, Riebeek Kasteel offers an unsuspecting charm and a wonderfully rural atmosphere often found in small villages – making it a superb choice for a relaxing weekend away with family and friends.
On the outskirts of the village and surrounded by vineyards, Shiraz Estate Guest House awaits offering guests a stylish space to rest their heads in ultimate country comfort.
The historical farmhouse, dating back to 1881, has since been converted into a stunning six-bedroom villa, adorned with contemporary decor, while still retaining the high ceilings and original wooden floors. The manor house is for your exclusive use, and sleeps 14 across five double en-suite bedrooms and one quadruple suite with king-size beds.
The home also boasts a large kitchen, open-plan dining room with a fireplace, a lounge, and a lovely landscaped garden with a private pool, braai area, gazebo with built-in benches, and shaded verandah with outdoor seating for afternoon gatherings.
The villa is a TV-free zone, which means guests get to fully immerse themselves in the tranquillity of the setting, where starlit braais and poolside chilling are the order of the day. There is also a plethora of books, magazines and board games at your disposal…
And, if you’re looking to get out and about, there are numerous neighbouring wine farms (including Kloovenburg Winery), microbreweries, restaurants, bars, cafés and galleries in the village itself, and mountain-biking and hiking trails in Riebeek Valley just waiting to be explored.
