By Inside Guide • 15 October 2025
Nothing says summer like wandering through a beautiful garden, wine glass in hand. Even better when those gardens are the gloriously verdant and enchanting botanical wonderland and woodland that is The Cellars-Hohenort, set against a backdrop of the Constantia mountains. Tastes of the Valley is a unique occasion celebrating the finest wines from the Constantia Valley in one exclusive afternoon of sipping… wine-tasting meets garden party, brimming with elegance and charm.

Stroll between six tasting stations representing the best of the Constantia Wine Valley. Each will offer a hand-picked selection of fine wines from their respective estate, chosen to complement seasonal bites from the new Cellars-Hohenort summer menu. Discover new favourite wines from the likes of Beau Constantia, Eagles Nest, Buitenverwachting, Groot Constantia, Steenberg and Constantia Glen, as you wander, sip and chat to the winemakers.
Summer eats

The talented team of chefs behind The Conservatory Restaurant will be rustling up delicious seasonal bites to accompany the wine tastings, bringing the fresh flavours of summer to the fore in an appetising taster of their new summer menu. Expect West Coast oysters with jalapeño vinaigrette, seared-salmon tataki with burnt-orange aioli, steak tartare, and seafood paella arancini, each paired with the wines from a different estate. And sweet pairings too… what would a summer garden party be without a berry pavlova, or a baked lemon curd with honeycomb ganache, coconut ice cream and citrus crumble… sensational pairings and palate-pleasing eats.

A luxuriously leisurely afternoon of superb wines in one of the most elegant garden settings in Cape Town, this is an inspired way to start summer off in style.
