Over 200 wines and a whole selection of deliciousness are ripe for the picking at this popular annual event.
The rambling lawns of Buitenverwachting wine estate is where you’ll find foodies and wine enthusiasts on Saturday, 24 February for the ninth annual Constantia Fresh Fine Wine & Food Festival. Over 200 wines will be available for you to swirl, sip and savour, while you nibble on gourmet canapés prepared by some of the country’s most talented chefs (Peter Tempelhoff, Edgar Osojnik, Brad Ball, Annemarie Steenkamp and Glen Foxcroft Williams, among others).
Participating wineries in the area include Klein Constantia, Groot Constantia, Steenberg, Eagle’s Nest and Constantia Glen, while estates from further afield include Tokara and Jordan Wines (both Stellenbosch), Paul Cluver (Elgin), Hamilton Russell Vineyards (near Hermanus), Beaumont Wines (Bot River) and The Drift (Napier).
Your R550 ticket includes a festival glass, tasting of over 200 wines, as well as the gastronomic extravaganza on offer. In addition to the wine and food, a wonderful line-up of live music is part of the day’s entertainment.

Ticket prices are ridiculous!
Valerie Hendricks
A lovely event but so expensive
Nicky
If anyone wants to sponsor me tickets for this amazing event…would definitely not say no!
Erica Langtry
Does the ticket include the tasting of canapés or do you have to pay for those separately.
Lise
Hi Erica, I’ve been to this twice and EVERYTHING is included! It’s a once off entry fee and once your in, you don’t pay for anything else.

The price of these events has increasedby far too much which creates an elitist situation. My friend and I, both pensioners now, used to love attending various festivals and events, and can mo longer afford it. Why don’t you have free entry and people can purchase tickets for as many tastings as they want?
The Inside Guide
Hi Kate
You are through to The Inside Guide. If you’d like to contact the organisers of Constantia Fresh, do so on the details listed above.
Good luck.
Lise
Hi Kate, I have been to this event twice before and friends attended the first few. The original price, 6 years ago, was R400 pp – so they haven’t increased the price by much and considering it runs from 3-8pm all inclusive… Not such a bad deal. 😉
