Meet the Winemakers
Storytelling, the secrets of winemaking and informal discussions with the winemakers are just some of the highlights of this exclusive dinner at The Tangram restaurant. There’s also a four-course dinner by chef Tamzyn Ehlers, whose delicious food is paired with wines carefully selected by the winemakers to showcase the diverse terroir of the Durbanville wine region.

Collectors Reserve tasting
The seven Collectors Reserve wines celebrate the little pockets of vineyards that offer something special. The winemaking team uses the finest grapes from these unique spots to reflect the distinctive characteristics of their terroir and varietal, and connects them with an iconic Cape Town landmark. At this special tasting, the Durbanville Hills winemaking and cellar teams share the stories in small groups as you are guided through four different taste experiences with canapés. Palate and appetite tantalised, move through to The Tangram restaurant where a three-course meal awaits, designed by chef Tamzyn Ehlers and team to pair with more of the Collectors Reserve wines.

Metro Merlot
Embark on an experiential taste journey of all the iterations of this versatile varietal. Kick off with a creative Durbanville Hills Merlot Rosé cocktail, then follow a series of tasting stations around the tasting room and maturation cellar. Tastings paired with canapés keep you guessing and getting to know a range of Durbanville Hills merlot wines, including their Merlot Rosé, Durbanville Hills Merlot and Collectors Reserve The Lighthouse Merlot, among others. With your palate fully tuned, it’s time to move through to Tangram Restaurant for a fabulous three-course dinner designed to showcase wines such as the Durbanville Hills Merlot and iconic Tangram red blend. And to finish, there’s a unique 10-year-old Merlot Potstill brandy.
