An annual highlight for lovers of merlot, this is a relaxed and refined way to celebrate what is recognised as one of the world’s best-loved varietals. Taking place alfresco under the lights in the leafy courtyard, you’re invited to slow down and savour every sip.

The heart of the evening is a guided tasting of four distinctive Durbanville Hills merlots, each perfectly paired with a delicious bite that complements the complexity and character of the wine. Enjoy the Durbanville Hills Merlot Rosé with smoked salmon wontons with lemon and creme fraiche; Durbanville Hills Merlot pairs with a tender lamb kofta and tzatziki; while the depth of the Collectors Reserve Merlot is complemented by a wild mushroom and brie vol-au-vent; and mature camembert with fig jam and macadamia is the perfect pairing for the Merlot Potstill Brandy.
