Best of all, you don’t have to plan a thing. Everything is done for you. You simply show up and have a ball, as your weekend of surprises unfolds. And just in case you were wondering, the mystery doesn’t require you to don your Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot hats and solve a crime… the only unknown factors are which of Franschhoek’s finest experiences will be on your itinerary and what delightful bespoke surprises are in store.

How it works

When you buy your tickets for one of these Mystery Weekends you don’t know where you’re staying or what you’re getting – except for a glass of wine at your exclusive (and unconventional) check-in on the Friday (from 2pm – 5pm)… until you open your special Mystery Weekend box.

The Franschhoek Wine Valley randomly selects unique experiences around the village that are enjoyable, entertaining and delicious. And if the sold-out weekends in the past are anything to go by, you can rest assured that you’re in for an amazing experience.

The package includes:

• two nights’ accommodation for two people at a four- or five-star hotel, or luxury B&B or guesthouse in Franschhoek
• daily breakfast
• a surprise event on Friday night
• dinner on Saturday night
• lunch on Sunday
• a selection of fun-filled bespoke experiences that will be revealed upon your check-in

Although most of your weekend is pre-planned, there is more than enough time for a leisurely stroll through the village to browse the local market, art galleries, speciality food shops and blissful boutiques.
