Easter Lunch
Chef Stephen Fraser and team are planning a generous four-course lunch at Lanzerac’s beautiful Manor Kitchen restaurant for Easter Sunday. On arrival an amuse bouche of African Fabergé eggs with caviar and truffle brioche toast sets a lavish mood. A sharing table of starters entices you to tuck in to smoked salmon and asparagus terrine; shaved prosciutto and melon, feta and rocket salad with pickled strawberries; zucchini and red onion quiche with goats’ cheese and pear; and butternut vetkoek stuffed with pickled fish, with brandied apricot and rosemary butter.
A plethora of mains come to the table on generous platters to share family-style: whole roast poussin with herbs, lemon, honey and garlic; venison and stone-fruit pot pie with smoking bone marrow; and a Capetonian take on paella, with snoek, mussels, spiced prawns and calamari. Side dishes include hasselback potatoes, fire-roast leeks, cauliflower and curried chickpeas, and ginger roast carrots.
For dessert you’re invited to indulge in a whole cornucopia of sweet treats: nibble on hot cross doughnut bites, mini carrot cakes, pumpkin-spiced cheesecakes, bunny macaroons, phyllo milk tart nests, and peppermint tart glasses among other delights.
Stroll the Lanzerac grounds before or after your meal, soak up the classic Stellenbosch Winelands views and make the most of a convivial family get-together on the Easter weekend.
