Peter Rabbit inspires this year’s Easter festivities at the five-star V&A resort.
Easter is a magical time of year at One&Only Cape Town, whether you’re planning an escape for the whole weekend or celebrating with a special lunch or tea on the day itself. This year a Beatrix Potter theme weaves its enchantment through a raft of fun activities, afternoon tea parties, egg hunts and Easter lunch at ROOI.
A Peter Rabbit-themed afternoon tea
Afternoon tea in the Vista Bar & Lounge is always a treat. This Easter, Peter Rabbit and friends bring their charming storybook universe to the tea-table, adding an extra layer of magic. Indulge in a cornucopia of delicate sandwiches and savouries (including egg-and-parsley mayonnaise on seed loaf), a hot savoury station serving slow roast lamb and hazelnut-stuffed chicken roulade, and a decadent flurry of sweet treats and confections, from mini hot cross buns and carrot cupcakes, to chocolate mousse flower pots and bunny cake pops.

Easter lunch at ROOI
The fire-cooked flavours and relaxed sophistication of ROOI create a superb setting for a magical Sunday lunch with all the family. The whimsical Beatrix Potter theme continues here, and there’s an enchanting magician as well as playful face-painting to keep the little ones entertained. The leisurely Easter feast weaves through an array of salads and starters: flame-grilled tuna with grilled red cabbage; kudu bresaola; salmon gravlax; and Cape Malay pickled fish. Breads include mosbolletjies, hot cross buns, seeded lavash and kitka loaves, and there’s a mouthwatering choice of mains: lamb shank potjie with krummelpap; beef fillet with butternut gratin; duck breast with naartjie emulsion; roast cauliflower with white bean and tahini; and Malay yellowtail with broccoli and caper butter.
A final flourish of desserts, from chocolate brownie nests with speckled eggs, to raspberry eclairs, hot cross bread-and-butter pudding and chocolate mousse garden pots, end the family occasion.
