The Symphony Choir Festive Concert is back, this time with a cause. The magnificent lawns of Groot Constantia Wine Estate provide the setting for this annual festive family outdoor concert. Spread out your blanket and folding chairs, unpack your picnic baskets and settle back to listen to the sublime sounds of the Symphony Choir of Cape Town and friends floating over the vineyards. The bonus? All concert proceeds go towards improving the lives of disadvantaged children with disabilities.
Concert-goers will be treated to a performance by the highly acclaimed Imbhewu Marimba Band from the Alta du Toit School on arrival, and a lineup of classic carols and other festive music conducted by the consummate Alexander Fokkens. The Symphony Choir of Cape Town has joined forces with CBM South Africa, a charity committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, and the Peninsula School Feeding Association, to present this festive concert in benefit of the Alta du Toit School for children with severe intellectual disabilities.
There will also be Groot Constantia wine available for purchase, coffee from I Love Coffee (SA’s deaf-run coffee popup), and brownies baked by Brownies&Downies on the night.
Pack your picnic rug, baskets and lanterns – and let’s light up the lawns for a good cause!
