Delicious French-inspired seasonal fare and top-drawer take-home deli items.
Joostenberg Bistro’s French-flecked cuisine, excellent organic wines and rustic country atmosphere are spot-on for kicking back with friends and family in a wonderful Winelands setting – with old-school hospitality, friendly service and a lovely deli enhancing the overall experience.
Conveniently situated between Stellenbosch, Durbanville and Paarl, it’s the ideal spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch before stocking up on your weekly groceries. (There’s even the option to order oysters with a glass of bubbly for breakfast!)
In a homely setting, head chef Garth Bedford and his team have created menus that are ingredient-focused and cater to all tastes.
The breakfast menu is as varied as it is flavour-packed and features the likes of Croque Monsieur, naturellement; a classic farmhouse; homemade toasted muesli with fresh fruit and local yoghurt; and French toast with fynbos honey and streaky bacon. Lunch is also a bountiful affair, offering everything from cheese and charcuterie platters to pan-fried linefish; free-range beef burgers; slow-braised lamb; and pickled pork tongue.
On Wednesdays, there’s a brilliant-value plat du jour (R95) for lunch, and every Sunday, there’s a succulent roast and a choice of seasonal dishes to choose from that change weekly.
