Joostenberg Bistro Menu

With cooking that strikes the perfect balance between unfussy French favourites and inspired interpretations of local delights, the ingredient-focused menu has something for everyone.

In a setting that reminds you of home, head chef Garth Bedford and his team have created a series of dishes that tell stories. From the charcuterie breakfast that features everything from pork terrine to chicken-liver parfait, pork rillettes, home-cured coppa, pork pie, brawn, homemade pickles, a fresh baguette and toast, to the warm confit pork cheek salad with pickled garden veggies for lunch, you’re in for a farm-to-table feast.

Taking the nose-to-tail concept up a notch, the pickled pork tongue and deep-fried tail on coleslaw with gremolata, gherkins and Dijon mustard sauce is a must.

As for sweet treats, Joostenberg’s baked lemon cheesecake, vanilla pod crème brûlée and dark-chocolate mousse cake with orange crème Anglaise will have you lingering longer.

Good to know On Sundays, there’s a set three-course menu that changes weekly. With the likes of linefish cakes, roast pork and ice cream with Valrhona chocolate biscuits, it’s perfect for an unrushed, chilled lunch in the Winelands.
