Authentic Italian flavours and a Mediterranean feel in the Stellenbosch Winelands.
Driving up the avenue of the view-drenched Delaire Graff Estate on the Helshoogte Pass above Stellenbosch, you know you’re in for a treat… It’s a wine farm destination like no other, offering world-class wine, art, cuisine and spa experiences.
On the dining front, there are three outstanding restaurants to choose from. Joining Hōseki and Delaire Graff Restaurant is a brand-new Italian restaurant, Lorenzo’s. Named after estate owner Laurence Graff, it’s surrounded by lush gardens, with a sun-dappled pergola and bronze-panelled pizza oven evoking a classic alfresco Mediterranean experience.
Italian chef Alfonso Russo brings a wealth of experience from his career at esteemed restaurants in Capri, Milan and Ibiza, and is working with head chef Clinton Jacobs (of Delaire Graff Restaurant) and team to develop an authentic menu of classic Italian dishes. Think handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas and luscious antipasto such as burrata Caprese, wood-fired artichokes and veal carpaccio. Fresh herbs and vegetables from the estate’s vegetable garden add to the seasonal Italian ethos, as well as organic produce from local suppliers.
Channeling an air of la dolce vita, there’s also an inimitable Delaire Graff imprint of luxury living in the thoughtful design of the space, with a textural antique stone counter, and the theatrical pizza oven, clad in hand-patina bronze panels and crafted to resemble a magnificent jewel.
A refreshing new addition to the Stellenbosch Winelands lunch scene!
