Pauline’s Stand Up Coffee Bar: For a Real-Deal Caffeine Fix

Pauline’s Stand Up Coffee Bar: For a Real-Deal Caffeine Fix @giveaforkblog

Fast, strong and standing up. That's how the Italians do it…

Italians take their coffee fast, strong and standing up. Contrary to popular belief, leisurely cappuccinos at sidewalk cafés is not a thing; it’s a figment of Hollywood rom-coms. While there’s nothing wrong with nursing a well-made cappuccino in a buzzy coffeeshop or a view-drenched vineyard, there’s something rather appealing about European way of doing espresso. Which is where Pauline’s comes in…

Brought to you by Jon-Paul Bolus of Loading Bay fame, Pauline’s is the country’s first stand-up coffee bar. The idea, as the name suggests, is to do away with tables, chairs and other interior decor; and focus purely on the coffee. Patrons order at the counter, and enjoy their java on their feet. An invigorating way to start your day.

Good to know Also situated at Artem Centre in Sea Point is Jon Paul’s other new project: Sans, an “ethical green grocer” that also sells speciality home goods. It includes a deli stocked with fresh produce sourced directly from farmers.
Opening times Monday – Friday, 7am – 4pm
Saturday, 8am – 4pm
Sunday, 8am – 2pm
