Fabulous Flowers and Gifts: A Flower Atelier in Sea Point

A beautiful new era is blooming in Sea Point… among the exciting new stores, restaurants and cafés unfurling along Main Road is a boutique florist that makes thoughtful giving a breeze. The serene and colourful store is the new face of Fabulous Flowers and Gifts, a specialised floral and gift brand run by mother‑and‑son team Josie van Aswegen and Nicholas James, who put thought, warmth and personality into every arrangement, so that you really are saying what you mean with flowers.

Flower power

Abundant hand-crafted flower arrangements are their signature… there are exuberantly wild posies with names like Glee in a Jar and Summer Delight; bouquets and baskets that are the essence of a country garden;  arrangements that speak of romance, or gratitude, or tranquillity. “I love how flowers change the feeling of a room. And how sending a bouquet can become someone’s personal ritual for staying in touch with their people,” says Josie. “We believe that flowers have the power to transform moments into memories, spaces into sanctuaries and gestures into grace.”

Starting as a boutique florist in 1999, Fabulous Flowers has grown over the years without losing the family’s hands-on personal touch and warmth. Their creative HQ is in Claremont, delivering to online customers across Cape Town, with a second branch in Kensington, Johannesburg. And when you’re looking for personal gifts for friends and family outside the metropoles, they have curated a tempting collection of thoughtful gift boxes (which might include spoils such as a bottle of Steenberg bubbly, Ma Mère artisanal nougat and so much more) for nationwide delivery.
