A revamped Victorian house with a lavish dollop of eastern promise, Asoka is an atmospheric bar and restaurant built around a legendary 150-year-old, fairy-lit olive tree on Kloof Street. And the three-course dinner special is not to be missed! Pick one dish from each section of chef Nick Oliphant’s shortened menu (choose a different one each and share!). Asian beef tartare, pulled-lamb spring rolls, grilled tikka chicken skewer, chilli ginger fish wonton, and chimichurri beef sirloin are just some of the tongue-tingling dishes. And if you still have space, three divine desserts (malva pudding, salted-caramel cheesecake, chocolate fondant) are available to add-on.
