Épice Winter Special: R895 for 7 courses

Named after the French word for spice, you’ll find this atmospheric 45-seater looking out onto the quaint Le Quartier Français courtyard, tables set around a roaring fireplace. Chef Charné Sampson weaves her magic with a flavourful menu of refined dishes inspired mostly by India, and also Spain, Japan, Mexico and other exotic locales. The “spice” is less about chilli heat and more about taking guests on a fragrant culinary journey – think vanilla, saffron, nutmeg, cardamom, cumin, caraway… Every course is an adventure – prawn roti with mango atchar; quail with mussel, granadilla and curry leaf; and lamb with dahl and chermoula are some of the creations you might encounter.
