The experience Situated on a fynbos reserve, this eco-luxury retreat attracts city-weary travellers who want a secluded, restorative stay in nature. A dreamy lagoon, abundant birdlife and the towering Kleinrivier Mountains provide the backdrop; in winter, these are softened by morning mists and atmospheric light. The suites in a milkwood grove open onto the view and have all the creature comforts (fireplace, hot tub, electric blankets, slippers, a tea/coffee station, a decanter of port and nightly turn-down service). In the view-drenched main lodge building, two couches beside the fireplace beckon for sundowners and nightcaps; this is also where breakfast  and seasonal-focused dinners are served. There’s a small spa and a selection of exhilarating outdoor activities from dawn till dusk available to book – beach excursions, nature and fynbos walks, mountain-biking, kayaking and boat trips.
