Sanbona Wildlife Reserve: Special Rates For South African Residents

Sanbona Wildlife Reserve: Special Rates For South African Residents

A luxury Big 5 safari experience for couples and families.

Tucked beneath the majestic Warmwaterberg Mountains in the heart of the Little Karoo, Sanbona is the Western Cape’s answer to a luxe safari experience. A mere three-hour drive from Cape Town, the malaria-free reserve spans 58 000 hectares and offers the type of immersion that is hard to come by.

To celebrate 20 years of conservation, and its recent upgrade to full nature-reserve-protection status for perpetuity, Sanbona is running an accommodation special for South African residents.

Sanbona Safari Wildlife

Of course, the two daily game drives is what most visitors look forward to. And, in addition to the Big 5, there is a plethora of smaller game roaming the plains, including rarely seen aardvarks, caracals, Cape leopards and riverine rabbits. Sanbona is also filled with fynbos and succulents, creating a rather different landscape to the typical safari-type savannahs.

Should you be after more than the wildlife, there are guided walks to ancient Khoi-San rock-art sites, as well as birdwatching and stargazing (it is Karoo big sky country, after all).
