A fun-sized outing for the whole family.
Situated on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West, the Blaauwklippen Family Market is a wonderfully relaxing way to spend your Sunday. The small producers’ section, situated in an old farm building, is a great place to stock up on charcuterie, olives, cheese and freshly baked breads, while there are plenty of craft, fashion, jewellery and lifestyle stalls outdoors – and more food stalls.
Outdoors under the trees are long rows of tables, but seating is limited, so it’s advisable to get there early. If you don’t get a table, there is a large grassy spot with ample space for you to relax and enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon. Lay out a picnic blanket and have some lunch (bring-your-own-picnics are not allowed, but there’s plenty on offer at the various food stalls), while enjoying a bottle of Blaauwklippen wine to the strains of live music.
Your children will have loads to keep them entertained: pony rides, Zorb balls, soccer darts, jumping castles, pedal carts, and friendly goats to pet and feed. Add to that, the market is dog-friendly.
Stand-Out Stalls
- Spitbraai
- Catje’s Pancakes
- Giros Greek food
- All About Schnitzel
- Stonehill Olives
- Senor Onion Mexican Food
- Piroschka’s flammkuchen (German thin-crust pizza)
- antiques and collectible stalls

The service at the bistro is however hitrocious. 2 regrets, first is going there and enduring the hitrocious service and the second I should not of left a tip. Got an order for 1 cappuccino and 1 red cap wrong, ordered Lemonade that never came, got given the 6course menu only wasn’t told you can order of a board. The coffees took forever, asked for tomato sauce twice, had to go fetch sugar for the coffee ourselves, no greetings at the door or when we paid. Such an unpleasant expierces in a place with such potential. Had lovely things to buy but no way we giving them any more business for the poor services.

Hi
I bought a handbag from Moses Leather on sunday, and was wondering if you might have a phone number for him as I want to change mine for a bigger one.
Thank you, Lizette
