Spectacular 360-degree views from this giant roundabout.
The Cape Wheel’s fantastic location on the edge of the ocean at the V&A Waterfront offers panoramic views of Cape Town’s landmarks: the mountains, Granger Bay, Robben Island and the bustling harbour. At its highest point, it yields 40-metre-high vistas, joining cities around the world that have giant observation wheels.
Each ride lasts around 20 minutes and includes four revolutions, so if you missed Robben Island on the first round, catch it on the next go! There are 30 fully enclosed cabins with comfortable seating, glass floors, air conditioning and LED lighting. Two are wheelchair accessible.
Survey the world from up high, watch the container ships, cruise boats and yachts coming and going, spot dolphins, seals and the odd whale… At sunset, see the spectacular African skies changing colour. A nighttime ride is especially magical, surrounded by the glittering lights of the Waterfront and city.
