Bicycles have always had a special place in the hearts of the French, so where better to ride one than through the countryside of the Cape’s “French corner”? Founded by French Huguenots in 1688, the vineyard-scattered valley of Franschhoek is flanked by majestic mountains, making it the ideal location to explore on an E-Bike.
Franschhoek E-Bike wine tours
The three-and-a-half-hour tour starts at the River Café in the village – where you’ll be able to enjoy a cup of coffee or something to eat (for your own expense) before or after your tour – as your guide shows you how to use your bike. Then you’ll head off into the Winelands, avoiding main roads and stopping at two or three wine estates of your choice along the way.
Included in the package:
- E-Bike (equipped with wine saddlebags)
- Protective gear
- Private wine-tasting at La Couronne Wine Estate Vineyard
Food, coffee, and additional wine-tastings are for your own account.
For a taste of the French-country lifestyle, bikes and all, head to Franschhoek.
Good to know A child star seat or half-wheeler seat can be attached to the bike at additional cost (from R150 to R350, depending on the kind of seat).
