Galileo Open Air Cinema 2018: Movies by Moonlight

Galileo Open Air Cinema 2018: Movies by Moonlight

Relive your favourite movie moments under the stars in some of the Cape’s most picturesque settings.

Cape Town is bursting with fun and fabulous things to do, especially when the weather plays along. How does watching a flick under a starry sky sound? If the thought appeals, the Galileo Open Air Cinema will be showing a series of silverscreen classics (as well as some millennium favourites) at various scenic venues in and around Cape Town until the end-April 2018.

Blankets are available for hire, and tasty food and drinks are on offer, as well as delicious picnic baskets (which can be ordered when you book your tickets and collected on arrival). Get there before the movie starts so you can enjoy the live music and festive atmosphere (it also helps to reserve your spot on the lawn).

Check out the movie line-up and venues below, and be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for updates.

Please note Screenings may be cancelled in the event of bad weather.

Hi Saskia. Tickets can be purchased at the gate but only if they are not sold out, and it’s advised to purchase them online as they get sold out quickly. You can find out whether a screening has been cancelled by contacting Galileo Open Air Cinema at 071 471 8782, or by checking the Webtickets page (click our Book Online button) on the day of the screening (which will be labelled as cancelled if that’s the case). Hope this helps.

    Good day

I would like to know your dates in December. As we came to Cape Town in 2015 from the end of December to early Jan and wanted to see a movie but you were closed.
Planning to come to Cape Town in December/Jan this year and would love to spend a night under the stars
