Grub & Vine Norval Moonlights As An Artfully Elegant Events Venue

Opening a second Grub & Vine to the Southern Suburbs not only brings locals closer to Matt Manning’s deliciously elevated bistro food, but adds a whole new raft of possibilities, as the space transforms seamlessly into a glamorous events venue. The airy, glass-walled restaurant is part of the Norval Foundation, one of the continent’s custodians of – and a haven for – African visual art. With beautiful views over striking sculpture gardens, rolling mountains and a beautiful outdoor deck, an intimate upstairs wine bar, and all the galleries of the art museum to spread out into, the contemporary and beautifully decorated space really does give scope to celebrate in style.

A versatile venue

For weddings, awards ceremonies, special birthday celebrations, anniversaries, intimate family get-togethers and corporate events, it’s an endlessly versatile space. You can take over the whole restaurant for a crowd, book the mezzanine bar and gallery for a more intimate affair (or start off there with pre-drinks), and host a chef’s table dinner at the long table for 16 guests.

But that’s not all. With the expansive galleries of the art museum to hand, there are a succession of spaces to mingle, set up a dance floor, or make presentations. Choose from the atrium, art galleries and library. Then the restaurant terrace spilling out into the beautiful museum sculpture gardens adds another dimension for spring, summer and autumn events.

A choice of menus

With Grub & Vine’s experienced chefs in the kitchen, superb food is all part of the offering. Depending on the occasion you can choose a seated menu of 3 or 5 courses with canapés at lunch or dinner. Or choose canapés or bowl foods for a cocktail event. And they can cater for conferences too.

Art on the walls, artistry on the plate, and a succession of stunning spaces turns any celebration into a memorable masterpiece.

Good to know Taking over the whole space allows for hosting 200 – 300 guests. A seated meal in the main dining room accommodates 120 guests. The wine bar suits intimate occasions of up to 50 guests (with space for 75 more in the adjoining Gallery 9).
