A kayak trip around Simon’s Town is a perfect way to experience the picturesque False Bay coastline – wind or shine!
Cape Town’s penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach is justifiably one of our city’s most unique drawcards, but finding a patch of sand among the throngs of tourists is not so much fun. Which is where these tours come in: penguin-spot from the comfort of your own kayak and view other species of marine life while you’re at it.
The sturdy double kayaks are easy to control, and no previous experience is necessary. All you really need is a sense of adventure (though physical stamina is good, too) as you kayak through the beautiful False Bay waters.
And, if you thought kayaking was a fair-weather affair, guess again! While summer certainly means hot days and warm water, it can get quite windy. Winter’s windless days, while cold, provide the perfect conditions for kayaking, plus there’s a chance of whale-spotting!
