A canoe trip around Simon’s Town is a perfect way to experience the picturesque False Bay coastline – wind or shine!
Cape Town’s penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach is justifiably one of our city’s most unique drawcards, but finding a patch of sand among the throngs of tourists is not so much fun. Which is where these kayak tours come in: penguin-spot from the comfort of your own dugout, and view other species of marine life while you’re at it.
The sturdy double kayaks are easy to control, and no previous rowing experience is necessary. All you really need is a sense of adventure (though physical stamina is good, too) as you kayak through the beautiful False Bay waters.
And, if you thought kayaking was a fair-weather affair, guess again! While summer certainly means hot days and warm water, it brings with it the pesky southeaster. Winter’s windless days, while cold, provide the perfect conditions for kayaking, plus there’s a chance of whale-spotting!
All this for R290 per person (as part of their current special).
Covid precautions All customers and guides will be temperature-tested before setting off, and should wear their own masks and sanitise hands regularly. Whenever guides are in close contact with customers, the guides will wear a face shield as well as a mask. All points of touch (just the paddle, really) will be sanitised before and after use.
