Homegrown wine, craft gin and delightful dishes await at this Stellenbosch gem.
The oak-tree lined roads and sweeping vineyards of the Knorhoek Valley set the scene for this quintessential Stellenbosch wine farm, whose diverse attractions and experiences greet you the moment you enter the property.
Tucked into the shoulders of the Simonsberg Mountains, Knorhoek Wine Farm’s unique position – among an amphitheatre of peaks – yields a selection of wonderful homegrown award-winning wines.
Spanning 200 hectares, Quoin Rock’s unassuming sibling dates back to 1783 and offers a dazzling array of tastings, including wine and craft gin, best enjoyed on the view-drenched farm where they were created.

Winning wines
Although Knorhoek winemaker Schalk Opperman focuses on two varietals – namely cabernet sauvignon and chenin blanc – he certainly does so with aplomb! In collaboration with vineyard head Nico Walters, Scalk secured the Double Gold award at the annual Veritas Wine Awards, and 4.5 stars at the annual Platter awards respectively for both of these.
While you’re there
Feeling peckish? Platters as well as a selection of wood-fired pizzas can be ordered at the deli to be enjoyed with your tastings. And, don’t leave without bagging a bottle of some out-of-this-world homemade olive oil.
Prefer the outdoors? Enjoy a picnic on the lawns. Or stretch your legs on one of the many hiking, cycling and walking trails on the expansive estate.
Whether you’re here for the scenery or the sipping, Knorhoek Wine Farm won’t disappoint.
