No summer is complete without an epic picnic in the Winelands – with birdsong, rustling leaves, vineyard views and a rustic country atmosphere completing the picture.
Which is why, before bidding farewell to the summer of 2019, Nederburg is inviting guests to come and celebrate the last of the sunny season with a gourmet picnic on the shaded lawns of its expansive property.
Primely positioned just outside of Paarl, the farm’s captivating views of the Drakenstein mountains, verdant vineyards and stunning gardens make it an ideal picnic spot. Add to that a rich history of wine production, dating back to 1791, and you have an alfresco feast straight out of a silver-screen classic.
There’s no shortage of spots to spread your blanket and bask in the wondrous setting. Picnic hampers are prepared at the popular Red Table restaurant and include the following:
- a selection of artisanal breads and hummus
- delicious cheeses
- fig preserve
- lemon-and-thyme chicken kebabs
- springbok samosas
- roasted cajun spiced nuts
- brie and mushroom tartlets with caramelised onions
- fresh seasonal salad
- a sweet treat
Baskets come fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, glassware as well as an ice bucket and blanket. So round up some friends and family, order a refreshing glass of your favourite Nederburg wine, and sit back and enjoy.
Good to know Petite baskets for the kids include mini beef burgers, chips, fruit juice, sweets and even some bubbles! Nederburg’s award-winning range of wines, as well as mineral water and soft drinks, are available to purchase to complement your picnic. Please inquire with The Red Table regarding pricing.
