Indoor and outdoor venues at Tryn
The signature restaurant (named after the feisty founder of the estate, Catharina Ras, nicknamed Tryn) is set in historic Cape Dutch style on one side of the werf, shaded by old oak trees and giving onto the hotel’s lawns with the mountains behind. The Oak Terrace is an idyllic sun-dappled spot for a welcome drink before you move into one of the private dining rooms inside the beautifully decorated restaurant.
- The Ruby Room: Decorated in rich burgundy shades to reflect the farm’s renowned wines, this is an intimate stylish space comfortably seating 16 around a long, light oak table. There’s space for more at four banquette-lined booths and glass doors open onto a tranquil enclosed garden.
- The Cuvee Room: Soothing shades of green are the backdrop in this spacious venue with its own serving bar. Easily seating 40 guests, it opens out onto a semi-private furnished courtyard surrounded by greenery.
Alternatively go the alfresco route and take over Tryn’s Vineyard Terrace, which has sweeping vineyard views to the mountain beyond. It’s an ideal venue for a cocktail party, with ample space to spread out and relax.

Contemporary elegance at Bistro Sixteen82
The light-filled Terroir Terrace is just above the open-plan buzz of BistroSixteen82 and has a wide balcony perfectly placed for soaking up the views over the mountain, fynbos gardens, sculptures and infinity pools. Decorated in light sage and dusty pinks, it’s an easily adaptable space seating up to 32 guests.

On the menu
Exceptional cuisine from executive chef Kerry Kilpin’s inimitable kitchens are served at all three venues, and menus can be customised into a variety of offerings according to the occasion. At Tryn the options include cocktails with delicious canapés, or a refined three-course meal. Think glazed pork belly with root vegetables and pear chutney, ethically sourced fish with creamy fennel purée and Cape Malay veloute, roast pumpkin risotto, and several more options from which to customise your menu. At Bistro Sixteen82, the famous evening tapas menu is the draw, using locally-sourced seasonal ingredients to pack a flavour-punch with every bite. Both restaurants offer vegetarian and vegan options.
Make a night of it
