Stellenbosch Wine Bus: Hop-On-Hop-Off Wine-Tastings

Stellenbosch is one of the oldest wine regions in the country, with well over 100 wine estates in the immediate area. Many of these farms are open to the public and offer an abundance of activities, including daily wine tours and tastings, not to mention restaurants with mountain and vineyard views, or picnic baskets to be enjoyed on their expansive lawns.

To make the most of some of Stellenbosch’s finest wineries, a wine-tasting tour is a must. But driving and drinking is not! Which is where the Stellenbosch Wine Bus comes in. The company’s philosophy is simple: to make it easy, fun, safe and affordable to visit South Africa’s premier wine region. The difference between the Stellenbosch Wine Bus and other wine-tasting tours is that you can pick and choose which wine farms you would like to visit, and as the bus follows a recurring circuit you can decide how much time you’d like to spend at each estate.

This one-of-a-kind trip is the best way to experience Stellies like a local. Head off the beaten track and into the cellars of the passionate pioneers who are changing the wine-making industry. Discover state-of-the-art tasting rooms and specialists in environmentally friendly, natural winemaking. On the tour you’ll visit four top wineries, explore cellars and taste directly from the barrel. It’s an excellent opportunity to add to your own wine collection.

Come lunchtime, and a traditional South African braai will be served, including boerewors (local sausage) and chicken sosaties (kebabs), two salads and braaibroodjies (traditional bread).
