The lodgings

Built in 1840, the stately Cape Dutch Manor House has been luxuriously restored to old-world elegance. There are four bedrooms , three bathrooms, a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen, a spacious living and dining room with a large fireplace and TV. Outside, a dining patio with beckons, with an inviting Swedish hot tub.

The Cellars restaurant

A stroll through the gardens leads to The Cellars restaurant, where chef Frikkie Janse van Rensburg cooks up a feast of seasonal produce from the Robertson valley (and from the farm’s kitchen gardens). Lunches and dinners are served as delicious set menus of country fare in family sharing style at the long table, and accompanied by a selection of wines from Penhill’s boutique winery, it’s a fabulous way of getting a true taste of the terroir of these beautiful Karoo landscapes.

The winner’s name will be drawn on Tuesday, 18 February 2025, and the prize is redeemable from 18 February until 30 April 2025 (subject to availability). The total prize is valued at R65 000, and includes a two-night stay for 8 people, an afternoon tea, daily breakfast, a winemaker’s dinner, drinks and all farm activities.

This competition and its prizes are being offered by Penhill Farm, which is solely responsible for ensuring that the winner receives his/her prize.
