Boschendal is the quintessential Winelands destination, offering a slew of pleasurable pursuits that include wining and dining, luxury country accommodation, a farm shop and deli, outdoor adventures and – perhaps, most importantly – loads of space where children can roam free while parents attend to the very important business of sipping wine.
The estate’s summer addition – a drive-in cinema on Saturday evenings – means you can literally arrive at the estate at dawn and leave after the sun has set.
Picnics, popcorn and more
Enjoy the latest live-action versions of Disney classics, with your choice of snacks. We recommend pre-ordering a picnic basket, to enjoy before or during the movie, or booking a table at the Deli restaurant. If you’d prefer, you can simply stock up on the night, from the various market-style food stalls on offer that include popcorn, slush puppies, Angus Beef burgers, wine and gin cocktails.
Please note All picnic baskets must be booked by the previous Friday at 5pm and baskets can be collected from 6pm on Saturday evening.
Movie lineup at Boschendal
Screenings take place on The Werf Helicopter Pad and begin at 7.45pm (gates open at 5pm). On 22 and 27 December, Christmas-themed movies will be screened and picnics served on the Rose Garden lawns. Guests are invited to bring blankets and chairs, and to enjoy a leisurely picnic-and-movie evening filled with laughter, excitement, great food and snacks.

- Screenings are weather dependent, so check if the movie is showing before you set out.
- Wearing masks is compulsory and your temperature will be taken on arrival.
- No cash transactions; only card payments and Zapper and Snapscan.
- Booking is essential.
- No cars will be allowed in after the movie has started, so please ensure you’re on time.
