About De Waal Park During the year, The City Council Parks Department in conjunction with Concerts In the Park (and to some extent the Friends of De Waal Park) work hard to keep the park looking its best all-year-round, so that when summer starts, it is in spiffy condition for these unique, community get-togethers. Everyone is welcome – including your pets.

To all the whiners. Book and Pay to see the Bands you want to see. De Waal Park offers FREE concerts in the park. Kudo’s to the organisers and volunteers who enable so many who normally would not be able to afford to see these bands, to see them Free! We take our own loo paper…..common even at Paying Concert Venues in SA…..and have an awesome days outing with the family & friends. Keep those concerts coming! Looking forward to 2019 lineup with anticipation.

Hi Hilary. Unfortunately, the 2018 season is over for Concerts in the Park, but we’ll have the 2019 line-up available here as soon as it’s announced.

    Dear All

I agree that the toilets at this event are not always in the best shape.
As South Africans we all know that sometimes in this country things run out or planning doesnt always go the way we had hoped or expected.
This is a free concert and get together of neighbors and the community.
Whenever we go we have out check list.
Blanket – Check, Food Check, Drinks Check, Toilet paper check. To be safe. (along with paper plates etc)
There are normally ladies that hand toilet paper out throughout the day but when there is a lot of attendees as previously stated – Its always best to take a roll of our own just to be safe.
Problem solved – Enjoyed the Free Concert in the park 🙂

The organizers of this event need to know that the toilet facilities are shocking inadequate.
there were at least 2500 people there today, half of which were female. Three toilet stalls, without toilet paper is shocking! the queue was at least 40 people deep all afternoon and eventually we were using the men’s toilets. you need to at least supply portable loos for so many people. many people were saying how disgusted they were at the organizers total lack of care for the people that come to this event.

    • Sabrina Cassiem

Thank you Pam for sharing your “toilet” experience. That serves as a confirmation that i will not attend an event there with my family.

      • Charles

Absolute rubbish – The Toilets referred to were the Parks Toilets – there were 30 toilets by the Molteno Road gates near the VIP Tent . – The quantity of Toilets is set by CTCC regulations and sponsored by CTCC Parks

Do you know roughly the date for the Franschhoek wine festival in 2018? I would like to book accommodation in Franschhoek to coincide with the wine festival.
