Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa: Wine Society Evenings at Magnolia Social Dining Lounge

The ambience in Magnolia Social Dining Lounge is plush yet relaxed, a comfortable and lively space where Helderberg locals (and visitors alike) gather for convivial lunches and evenings with friends. It’s a space that is all about the conversations, and once a month the conversational spotlight shines on South Africa’s remarkable wine culture. Wine, storytelling and food come together with plenty of energy at the much-loved monthly Wine Society evenings, hosted by presenter and wine guy, Nick Plummer, and the culinary team at Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa. 

Sociable wine evenings

Each month three different winemakers from top estates bring their choice of wines to showcase. You’ll hear their stories and sip your way through the various vintages (up to 10 wines) paired with carefully crafted dishes over a night of flavour and fun. An intimate occasion limited to 35 guests, there’s time and space to chat with the winemakers behind each bottle as the evening progresses towards the dessert finale.

Spring and summer dates

The line-up of winemakers and wine estates has been announced for the new season up until the end of the year. Boutique gems from the Swartland, family-owned wineries, renowned winemakers, cool climate producers and hand-crafted wines from dryland vineyards, there’s a story in every sip. Early bookings are advised for the evening of your choice as seats are limited.

• Barton Vineyards – A working farm, fynbos reserve and boutique producer of fine wines and olives from the Bot River Valley. 
• Kloovenburg Wine & Olive Estate – A family-owned Swartland estate with a pioneering legacy, celebrated for its premium wines and olive oils. 
• (L) Equinox Wines – Founded by MC Stander, this boutique Swartland producer crafts balanced, natural wines with a hands-on approach.

• Eenzaamheid Wines – A historic South African winery in Agter-Paarl, known for handcrafted, award-winning wines from dryland vineyards. 
• Lemberg Wine Estate – A family-owned Tulbagh winery crafting boutique, terroir-driven premium wines. 
• Anura Vineyards – Positioned on the Simonsberg foothills, Anura crafts innovative wines that reflect the diverse soils, slopes and character of Stellenbosch.

• Doolhof Wine Estate – An award-winning estate at the foot of Limietberg, crafting expressive wines that reflect Wellington’s unique terroir. 
• Aslina Wines – Founded by acclaimed winemaker Ntsiki Biyela, the brand honours her grandmother’s legacy through wines crafted with passion and purpose.
• Mellish Family Vineyards – A boutique producer crafting cool-climate wines from historic Welbeloond farm, a heritage property once used as an outpost by Jan van Riebeeck in the late 1600s.

Further dates: After a break for the holiday season Wine Society evenings resume in February 2027. Watch this space for dates and wine line-up.
