Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts 2026/ 2027

One of the best ways to spend a summer afternoon in Cape Town is a picnic on the lawns of Kirstenbosch, with live music and Table Mountain as the backdrop.

The annual Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts return from late November to late March, bringing some of South Africa’s biggest names – and a handful of international acts – to the botanical garden.

Two international acts announced

The full 2026/27 line-up has yet to be announced, but what we do know is that international rock icon Jack White is bringing his solo tour to South Africa for the first time and is performing live in the gardens on 14 December 2026.

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and Leon Bridges is bringing his unmistakable R&B sound to the gardens on 30 November. “I’ve wanted to play South Africa for a long time,” says the R&B star. “And I’m really excited to finally make it there, especially with this album. I can’t wait to share the music with everyone”. Tickets go on sale on 24 September.

Sunday afternoons sorted

If previous years are anything to go by, we can expect the big reveal in the second half of September. Last season’s programme dropped on 25 September 2025, with tickets going on sale the same day!

Most concerts take place on Sunday afternoons, making them a quintessential Cape Town summer ritual. Last season featured 21 shows, with standard Sunday tickets priced at R360. Special events and international acts cost more, including the New Year’s Eve double bill and standalone shows by RY X and Calum Scott.
