Nobu at One&Only Cape Town: Superb Japanese-Peruvian Cuisine

Nobu Cape Town

Gather your clan for a sumptuous seafood feast all through September.

When it comes to top-drawer seafood, Nobu has been setting the bar for decades. Combining the precision and elegance of Japanese culinary tradition with the profusion of ingredients and flavours of Peru, masterchef Nobu Matsuhisa (for whom the restaurant is named) has made it his own, with over 30 high-profile restaurants across the globe.

Nobu Entrance

Descending the sweeping staircase to the main dining room at One&Only Cape Town, you’re embraced by the sleek and sophisticated luxury of Nobu’s double-volume space, and your eyes drawn to sparkling spring sunlight playing on the canals and changing cloudscapes over the iconic view of Table Mountain.

A September seafood feast

Nobu Seafood Platter

With spring in the air, our palates are craving the fresh flavours of the ocean, and Nobu has rolled out a very special seafood platter for the month of September. A sumptuous selection of the very best fruits of the ocean, brimming with the Japanese-Peruvian flavours for which Nobu is justifiably famous, it’s designed for three or four people to share. Piled high among char-roasted tomatoes and tender-stem broccoli are delicate shrimps in a fiery blend of spicy citrus and garlic; there’s locally caught sea bream (or carpenter fish) with zesty coriander salsa; grilled-to-perfection crayfish with a tangy yuzu teriyaki glaze; and bold Spanish Carabineros prawns with a smoky-spicy Peruvian anticucho dressing. Time to celebrate the season in style!
Cost R3 400 (for 3 – 4 people sharing)
Valid 1 – 30 September 2024

Omakase or à la carte

Nobu Cape Town Menu

Not in the mood for seafood? Explore the à la carte menu for more classic dishes to add to your Nobu collection of taste memories. There’s a whole raft of delicious options, which include wood-oven-roasted dishes, tempura, kushiyaki skewers and more. Our favourites include the spicy edamame, tuna sashimi tacos, yakimono beef tenderloin, teriyaki yellowtail jalapeño and a dry-miso whitefish dish, or push the boat out and go for the legendary black cod miso.

But if menu overwhelm is hitting, the simplest strategy is to go for the omakase set multi-course menu, where the dedicated chefs create a series of clean, impeccably plated dishes, taking the Nobu offering to new levels of creativity, and maintaining Nobu’s exacting standards. (Vegan and vegetarian options are available, too.)
