The weekend just got more delicious!
Eating out is one of our favourite pastimes, but one that can get pretty pricey – unless, of course, you know where to find the best deals. We’ve rounded up the best Saturday restaurant specials in Cape Town – from gourmet set menus to cheap and cheerful happy hours – sure to be a highlight of your weekend.
Bombay Brasserie at the Taj: R445 for Four Courses
Sumptuous and elegantly exotic, Bombay Brasserie is reminiscent of an Indian palace bedecked with gold and jewel tones, sparkling chandeliers and plush fabrics. In this evocative setting, redolent with the aromas of spices, French-born chef David Tilly and his team offer an exciting fine-dining menu that marries traditional, authentic Indian cuisine with a touch of Cape flavour. The signatures are chaat (street-food inspired small plates) and tandoor (clay-oven cooking). The Experience Set Menu cherry-picks the highlights: mustard-marinated tandoori broccoli, Old Delhi chicken tikka, ginger masala Karoo lamb chops and gulab jamun dumplings in syrup, with quinoa tikka kebab, truffle-and-pepper-scented chestnut mushrooms and paneer curry for vegetarians.
The special R445 per person; R490 (with a glass of wine)
Good to know Complimentary valet parking is available. The special is limited to tables of two people only.

The Vine Bistro at Glenelly: Under 30s Special Offer
The special R290 for a wine-paired three-course meal, including water and coffee.
About The Vine Bistro Housed within a state-of-art building at Glenelly Estate, this Christophe Dehosse-owned gem offers a concise French-inspired menu and award-winning Glenelly estate wines. If the sun is out, sit under the pergola at one of the long tables on the deck and enjoy beautiful views of the vineyards and surrounding hills. On chilly days, gather in the elegant restaurant dining room.
The deal If you are between 18 and 29, and partial to gourmet fare accompanied by award-winning wine, breathtaking views, and warm Winelands hospitality, this one’s for you. Les Jeunes a Table (directly translating to “the youth at table”) has arrived in Stellenbosch! The concept, French in origin, was launched as a way of generating a passion for quality food and wine among the youth (by making it more affordable, accessible and fun). Under-30s will be treated to three delectable courses served with tasting portions of wine, including water and coffee, for R290 per person (normally priced at R420). Waiters will make a special effort to explain the dishes in detail and hopefully spark a lifelong passion.
