It’s haute couture for the home, a slice of Paris in De Waterkant… Roche Bobois’ new Cape Town showroom celebrates the best of contemporary furniture design, European craftsmanship and a soupçon of French fashion, in a feast of colour, sleek lines and aspirational interiors.
The French high-end furniture design company brings out two new collections a year, just like its fashion-house counterparts, and its designers and collaborators read like a who’s who of the design world: Marcel Wanders, Kenzo Takada, Ora Ito, Sacha Lakic, Christophe Delcourt and Stephen Burks, as well as close relationships with couturiers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Missoni Home and Christian Lacroix Maison.
New De Waterkant showroom
Relocating its showroom to the Old Cape Quarter building in the vibrant De Waterkant puts Roche Bobois at the heart of Cape Town’s design district, among art galleries, trendy cafés and upmarket international furniture brands. The stunning design resonates with an elevated aesthetic that translates seamlessly to the light and open spaces of South Africa, with curated works by local artists on the walls complementing the varied room sets.
The art of living
On hand in the showroom are interior designers and architects, there to assist you in creating a (new) look for your home. Between the newest collections and long-time best-sellers (such as the iconic Mah Jong sofa), there’s an almost overwhelming choice of styles – and all can be customised with their ranges of designer fabrics.
Expect gorgeous fabrics, sumptuous sofas, exquisite lighting in a wide range of exclusive made-to-order and customisable designs.
