Restaurants he rates in 2019

For a casual meal Bouchon Bistro. I love the informal tapas with great flavours, and a very interesting winelist featuring international wines as well.
For a special occasion Foxcroft. Always interesting dishes, great quality and friendly service.
For a guilty pleasure The Indian Oven in Hout Bay. Being from the UK, I always miss a great curry, and this place always delivers (excuse the pun).
For a Winelands experience Jordan Restaurant. Have had countless great meals there; beautiful setting in the Winelands overlooking the mountains, and a fantastic cheese room.
For authentic cuisine South China Dim Sum. Very relaxed informal dining, but top-notch dim sum at very good prices.
Best new restaurant Riverine Rabbit. Love all the flavours and dishes from Ash [Heeger’s] new restaurant. She has created a really unique place.
Best “oldie but goodie” Willoughby & Co. Our go-to in the Waterfront for lunch on a day off. The sushi never disappoints.
The best restaurant overall La Colombe. The food, service, winelist and setting truly gets it all right.
