Right at the bustling heart of Bree Street, Matt Manning’s three-storey enclave of food, wine and culture (overlooking Heritage Square) is a must-visit destination on Cape Town’s foodie map. At the heart is Grub & Vine, living up to his original vision of serving good, honest cooking alongside excellent wines. It’s the place for leisurely lunches and atmospheric dinners, and gets an extra dollop of hearty flavours this season with their winter special menu.
Kick off with a duo of canapés: bacon-and-potato croquettes with chili mayo; and trout tartare with chive crème fraîche. For starters, a leek-and-potato soup is elevated with crispy potatoes, coconut-toasted sunflower seeds, and fresh pesto bread. Mains isr a choice between roasted baby chicken, confit chicken leg, crispy kale, white bean cassoulet, and chicken jus; or pan-fried linefish with baby potatoes, mussels, clams, bok choy, and a rich mussel velouté.
Good to know Dessert and sides are available at an additional cost.
