Grub with gusto on this autumn menu du jour.
The good, honest (and refined) fare of Matt Manning’s two renowned bistros (on Bree Street and at The Norval Foundation in the Constantia Winelands) gets an extra dollop of hearty flavour in autumn, with grub – and wine – both out of the top drawer. Warm up with the menu du jour, which kicks off with canapés, followed by your choice of two or three courses (starter, middle and main) and three options to choose from at each course. The good news is there’s a different menu at each of the two branches, so you can get all the dining pleasure twice over.
Grub & Vine Bree Think beetroot and goats’ cheese agnolotti, butternut risotto, pan-fried linefish with charred calamari, confit pork belly, beef sirloin with braised oxtail, and more.
Grub & Vine Norval Tuck into seared yellowtail, wild mushroom tart, potato gnocchi, braised lamb neck, pan-roasted line fish with squid, and beef short rib, among other delicious dishes.
You can also add dessert afterwards if you have room and can’t resist chocolate tart or sticky toffee pudding.
