Near a tree, by a river, there’s a cottage in the woods. Well, there are five cottages, actually and they’re surrounding vineyards and a pear orchard and the majestic Franschhoek Mountains in the distance.

Owned by the Parkfelt family, the original workers’ quarters and stables have been carefully renovated and turned into monastic – and utterly stylish – self-catering cottages. Set among fruit groves and herb gardens, the property offers a slew of scenic walks and an intimate environment in which to unwind. 

Couples can choose to stay in one of three romantic one-bedroom cottages – the Scandi-chic Blanc or Noir or the recently renovated Chestnut cottage – all of which have their own private plunge pools and outdoor patios and views to die for.
